Zettel’s Traum (Pencil Testing Papers) is an ongoing art project by Berlin-based visual artist Vinzent Britz, comprising thousands of small pencil-testing papers collected from an art supply store in Berlin-Kreuzberg since 2010.
Drawn on unknowingly by visitors testing pencils, chalks and other materials, each paper becomes an accidental artwork — never intended to be kept, seen or exhibited.
Collected and archived over more than fifteen years, the individual fragments come together as a collective work about unconscious creation, chance, repetition and time.
